Integrated remote data monitoring is HERE 🙌

This industry-first collaboration enables pool service companies to connect a Waterguru device and automatically receive remotely monitored data directly in Pool Brain.

Water chemistry readings, water temp, and pump flow data are transmitted from Waterguru’s device which is installed as easily as swapping out a skimmer lid. The data is then stored in Pool Brain for the associated body of water and works seamlessly with Pool Brain’s existing workflows, graphs, alerts dashboard and more.

Having my own pool company for 15+ years, I’ve personally experienced the challenges that have surrounded remote monitoring in the past. The Waterguru and Pool Brain teams have intentionally solved for these challenges. Aside from integrating with industry leading pool company software, Waterguru delivers a true chlorine reading instead of using ORP, the device can be installed by anyone in a few minutes without tools, the homeowner isn’t needed to activate any features, and flow is monitored in addition to chemistry. Both water chemistry and flow are critical to prevent pools from turning green and one without the other simply isn’t sufficient. It’s only a matter of time before something outside the technician's control occurs that will turn a pool green and the customer will typically blame you for it. With Waterguru’s remote data and Pool Brain’s proactive alerts system, pool service companies can be alerted automatically and act quickly before the customer is aware of any problem. Integrated remote data monitoring is the future of pool service and we’re proud to deliver yet another first for our industry with many more to come.

Receive Waterguru data remotely in Pool Brain

  • A new equipment item named "Waterguru" now exists on the equipment bar in both web and app

  • Click "view more" option on equipment bar to see Waterguru icon, click the icon to open up the equipment card and link the device to the body of water
In app, the Waterguru icon will display on the equipment screen

  • Enter the unique Pod ID for the Waterguru device to connect it to the body of water and begin receiving data remotely. That's it.
This can be done on web or in app and can be disconnected/changed at any time

  • View important stats in the Waterguru equipment card such as Pod ID, battery life, testing days remaining before cartridge needs to be replaced, notes, and photos

  • Depending on the cartridge inserted, remote data received can be Chlorine, pH, Alkalinity, CYA, Calcium Hardness, Water Temp and Pump On/Off at time of measurement (schedule Waterguru test to run when pump is scheduled to run to know if pump is flowing water properly)

  • Data received is displayed on graphs alongside existing route stop/job reading data for easy comparison and review

  • Remote data points are displayed as hollow circles and data from route stops/jobs are displayed as solid dots

  • Hide or show remote data points on graphs with a single click

  • 3 new graphs have been added (Water Temp, Calcium Hardness and TDS)

  • Navigate to a new "Remote Data" page by clicking any remote data point on any graph (this displays all data received remotely for a specific date on a specific body of water)

Customizable Alerts Triggered From Remote Data

  • Alerts can trigger when remote data is received based on your custom settings

  • A new "Trigger on" option has been added which allows you to toggle whether or not an alert should trigger based on remote data (alerts will still trigger based on route stop/job data received either way)

  • 4 new Waterguru specific alerts have been added

Low Testing Pads (number of days until test cartridge needs to be replaced)

    Low Battery (battery percent remaining)

Out Of Water (if device was not submerged in water at time of test which indicates low water level or device removed from skimmer)

Pump Not Running (if flow was not detected during time of measurement which indicates pump may be having issues)

  • When an alert triggers from remote data, it will display in the alerts dashboard to be dismissed by office staff the same way other alerts do (you can also choose to have email(s) sent on trigger)

  • Remote Data section has been added to the view filters on alerts dashboard

More Equipment Improvements in App

  • The equipment screen on route stops & jobs in app now displays ALL equipment regardless of whether or not the equipment has been logged already

  • Equipment icons update immediately to display the icon matched with the selected equipment type

  • Technician can view existing equipment details such as type selected, notes and photos

  • If technician has permission, they can edit equipment details at any time

  • If technician saves new details and made a mistake, they can immediately edit and correct those details

  • Equipment data is synced automatically and can be accessed and edited fully offline during a job or route stop

Other Improvements

  • Added GET request for "duration" parameter on Job and Route Stop endpoints in our Open API

  • When changing the price for a body of water on a route schedule, the system will now ask whether you want the price change to take effect immediately or wait until next month
