Alerts in Pool Brain make it easy to be auto-notified about potential issues or concerning trends. This eliminates the need to randomly check for issues or audit jobs as the issues you care about will be surfaced automatically for review.
You can customize alerts in Pool Brain based on your company's preferences. Set the conditions that trigger an alert, the priority of the alert, and whether additional notification emails should be sent.
When triggered, alerts display in order of priority in your alerts dashboard and can be dismissed by office staff. They display within each priority section with the oldest alert being at the top. This way, your office staff will always be working on the highest priority items that have been waiting the longest for review.
To customize alerts, click the drop down arrow in the top right corner of Pool Brain and choose "Customize Alerts" from the menu that displays.
System Alerts
Priority - Choose the priority level for each Alert by selecting it from a drop down menu beneath the alert name. Quickly review your alerts based on priority from the Alerts Dashboard.
Urgent
High
Normal
Low
Trigger Value - Choose the parameter value that will trigger the alert. For example, a chemistry reading higher or lower than X or a time later than X.
Trigger On - Choose other conditions for whether or not the alert triggers such as how many consecutive visits in a row before it triggers, which service level(s) it should trigger on, whether a salt system exists, and if the data received was from a tech or remote data source.
Email - Send the Alerts via email to an internal user.
Active/Inactive - Toggle Alerts on or off entirely.
Copy - Copy an Alert to quickly create a similar Alert.
Click the copy icon at the end of any alert row to create a duplicate alert. Once copied, the duplicate alert will display at the bottom of the Custom Alerts section and you can modify it from there. This is useful for making variations of the same alert where you want the trigger value or conditions to be different.
For example, "Not enough time on site" alert could be set to trigger for less than 15 minutes on a Complete Care service level and a duplicated version could be set to trigger for less than 5 minutes on a Chemicals Only service level.
Duplicate an Existing Alert
Copy an Alert to quickly create a similar Alert.
Click the Copy icon at the end of any Alert row to create a duplicate Alert.
Once copied, the duplicate Alert will display at the bottom of the Custom Alerts section and you can modify it from there. This is useful for making variations of the same alert where you want the trigger value or conditions to be different.
Use the Trigger On settings wheel to customize the duplicate Alert.
For example, "Not enough time on site" alert could be set to trigger for less than 15 minutes on a Complete Care service level and a duplicated version could be set to trigger for less than 5 minutes on a Chemicals Only service level.
TIP: Duplicating an Alert can be really useful, especially if you have multiple service levels. You can copy the "Not Enough Time on Site" Alert from the System Alerts section, then use the Trigger On settings to set different times based on a Full Service stop vs a Chems Only stop.
WaterGuru Alerts
You can use Pool Brain's WaterGuru Integration to remotely monitor data on your pools and spas. There are some device specific WaterGuru alerts that you can configure in the WaterGuru Alerts section.
Please note that other things WaterGuru measures (such as Chlorine and pH) are not device specific, so they can be configured as usual under either System Alerts or Custom Alerts sections.
To trigger these Alerts, You'll need to have a WaterGuru device linked to a body of water.
Custom Alerts
Click + Add New to create a new custom alert
Enter a Display Name for the Alert
Use the dropdown arrow below the Display Name to assign a Priority Level
Choose the Parameter to trigger the Alert from
Choose the Condition (Less than, Greater than, Equal to) to trigger the alert from
Enter the Number (Value)
You can optionally enter an email address for internal users to receive an email notification when the alert triggers (although we always recommend you review and dismiss alerts from the alerts dashboard)
Issue Report Alerts
There will be times that your technician needs to manually alert the office of an issue at a property (example: Water Level Low, Algae, Weather, No Access, etc). The technician can report this directly from any Job or Route Stop in the app.
Issue Reports can be customized similar to other Alerts but there are some differences.
Notes Required - If selected, the tech will be required to enter notes when reporting the issue.
Picture Required - If selected, the tech will be required to take a photo of the issue.
Priority - Choose whether the Alert is Urgent, High, Normal, or Low priority.
Email - You can optionally enter an email address for internal users to receive an email notification when the alert triggers (although we always recommend you review and dismiss alerts from the alerts dashboard)
TIP: If a photo is taken (which you can set to be required), Issue Reports are added to Route Stop Emails, alerting the Customer automatically. The only exceptions are Algae and Other Issue which the customer will never see for any reason.
